Are you a KNES grad seeking fulltime employment? Neuromonitoring technologies is hiring entry-level positions.

Neuromonitoring technologies (NMT) is seeking to hire individuals for multiple entry level surgical neurophysiologist positions. Projected start dates are January 1, 2021 with interviews being held in the near future. NMT is the leading provider of contract intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) in the Maryland/DC surrounding area, and is currently GROWING with newly added hospital contracts! NMT currently employs 31 surgical neurophysiologists and five board-certified neurologists that, collectively, cover over 8,000 IONM procedures annually. If you are seeking a long-term career in healthcare where advanced degrees are not a requirement, NMT may be a perfect fit for you. With our current openings, you can start your career in the medical field immediately following graduation!

About the career: Surgical neurophysiologists work directly in the operating room providing neuro integrity testing on patients, under general anesthesia, during selected high risk surgeries. They provide instant feedback to the surgeon and surgical team about the patient’s current neurophysiologic status in hopes to detect and prevent life altering injuries such as: paralysis, nerve damage, stroke, deafness, misplacement of surgical hardware, and sensation loss. This service is completed by sticking small subdermal electrodes on/in the patient and stimulating and recording them from various muscle groups, nerves, and brain locations. Surgical neurophysiologists are critical members of the surgical team and make a difference in their patient’s lives each day. Types of surgeries covered are, but not limited to: neurosurgery (brain/spine), orthopedic spine, ear nose throat (ENT), and vascular surgeries. As a contract company, we provide IONM service at over 50 surgical locations in the area. This position allows you to be in different locations but not have to travel extensive lengths or ever step foot on an airplane for work travel. All of NMT’s contracts are within driving distance of/in the Maryland and DC region. Work weeks are Monday-Friday with weekend call shifts divided evenly amongst all staff. On average, a staff member would cover seven weekend call shifts per calendar year, with advance notice of which weekends they are designated to. Additional rate of pay is also given for those worked weekend days.

Job benefits: competitive salary, health insurance, 401k options with employer matching, two weeks paid vacation (increased with longevity with the company), paid personal days, major holidays off with pay, $100/month cell phone stipend, monthly full business expense reimbursement (untaxed), daily mileage compensation, and overtime compensation opportunities.

Qualifications: COMPLETED bachelors degree in one of the qualified majors listed below (NMT will accept resumes of future graduates to be considered for future open positions), current and valid driver’s license, personal and reliable transportation, minimum 21 years of age, basic computer skills, good communication skills, ability to tolerate being in an environment with bodily fluids and exposed body parts, strength to lift over 30 pounds, comfortable with a flexible schedule, and capability of passing background and drug screenings. Prior experience working in the medical field is NOT necessary but welcomed.

Allowed Majors: All Plant Sciences/Horticulture, Oceanography, Natural Resource Management, Geology/Mining, Forestry, Fisheries and Wildlife, Earth Sciences, Conservation, Cartography, Agriculture, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physiological Science, Microbiology, Marine Biology, Immunology, Genetics, Epidemiology, Ecology, Biology, Anthropology/Zoology, Animal Science, Speech Pathology, Public Health, Physical/Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Nutrition, Movement Science, Kinesiology, Health/Hospital Administration, Health/Exercise Science, Dentistry, Athletic Training, Nursing, Medicine, and Communication Disorders Sciences and Services majors

To apply: Email your resume and projected/graduation date to Bailey Schafer at BaileySchaferNMT@yahoo.com.
