We Got Us: Black Terps Empowerment and Wellness Group

The UMD Counseling Center is facilitating a virtual group for Black UMD undergraduate students titled “We Got Us: Black Terps Empowerment and Wellness Group”. The purpose of this group is to provide a space for Black undergraduate students to learn how to better navigate higher education at a predominantly white institution (PWI). 

Topics covered include but are not limited to self-compassion/love, mental wellness, Black joy, dealing with racial oppression, and community building. Furthermore, this culturally tailored group aims to help Black undergraduate TERPS connect, reflect, heal and thrive. 

The group will run on Wednesdays from 3:00-4:30pm starting on February 17th. All group sessions will be conducted remotely via zoom and students are required to complete a screening appointment with the counseling center in order to participate in the group.

Virtual Event: Graduate Degrees in Kinesiology

 Tuesday, Oct. 13th from 3:00 - 4:00pm

Hear from current graduate students and faculty advisors in the variety of graduate degrees available in the Kinesiology department. Learn what you can do with these degrees as well as what you need to be a competitive applicant. Participants will have an opportunity to meet in small groups with the panelists. All students are welcome to attend!

The University Student Judiciary is recruiting new applicants for this year's selections cycle. USJ is a student organization dedicated to promoting character, ethics, and integrity on campus by educating students about the importance of honest conduct and adjudicating student misconduct cases.

HPAO Office Information through April 10th



Hello all,

Drop-in hours will be canceled through April 10. All scheduled appointments will be handled by phone.
The HPAO advisor will initiate the call by calling the number listed in your Appointment Plus account profile one time. Please update your profile as needed with the correct contact information and be available to take a call during the appointed time. Please email your resume and advising form to preprof@umd.edu in advance of your appointment.
Workshops scheduled between now and April 10 are canceled. This includes the MD/PhD session scheduled for 3/24. We will attempt to reschedule this session for later date. If we are unable to, we will ask the Program Directors to provide their slides for distribution to the MD/PhD applicant pool.
