Virtual Internship Opportunity!

Two positions are available for virtual internships with the Center for Orthopedic Outcomes and Research (COOR) with Luminis Health (Anne Arundel Medical Center and Doctor’s Community Medical Center) during the Fall 2021 semester. In collaboration with research staff, physical therapists and orthopedic surgeons, interns will conduct clinical outcomes research related to various orthopedic subspecialties ranging from total joint replacement and spine surgery to sports medicine.

PT Tech/Aide Hiring in Columbia, MD

Position: Physical Therapy Tech/Aide

Sports Medicine / Outpatient Orthopedic physical therapy clinic located in Columbia, MD is currently seeking a part-time Physical Therapy Aide/Technician who will work under the direct supervision of licensed physical therapists. Flexible hours ranging from 6am-8pm.


Main responsibilities include:

  • assisting patients with exercises
  • preparing patients and treatment rooms for use of modalities (electrical stimulation, ultrasound, heat/ice, etc.)
  • maintaining cleanliness of the facility


Looking to hire 2-3 colleges student who are interested in eventually being a PT, OT, PA or doctor. This is a great way to get experience, exposure and shadow hours required for Grad School or Med School AND get paid for your time.

AmeriCorps Position

The National Health Corps is a nationwide service program devoted to fostering healthy communities by delivering health and wellness education, and connecting those who need it most to benefits and services. The National Health Corps Florida AmeriCorps program offers opportunities for professional development, and real world experience, while serving the Northeast Florida community in various healthcare and outreach positions, patient case management, and health education. Host sites are non-profits, including medical and dental clinics, pharmacies, public health organizations, and youth development campuses. Members commit to 1700 hours of direct service over a 46-week period and receive a living stipend during the term of service. Following successful completion of the service term, members will receive an education award.


Applications are open and can be found on the NHC website. While open to all majors and backgrounds, this program is particularly suited to individuals who are interested in a career in healthcare, and health related fields, and are looking to gain service experience.

Focused Physical Therapy is hiring Physical Therapy Aides/ Techs



Focused Physical Therapy is looking for part-time (possibly full-time) Physical Therapy Aides/ Techs.

Salary: $13-16/hour

Job responsibilities: monitoring and instructing patients' therapeutic exercises (sufficient tactile and verbal cues expected), laundry and light cleaning. Adaptability to perform clerical duties when needed (minimally). Clerical duties include collecting copay, scheduling appointments and answering phone calls.

Experience desired but not required. Applicants that have a focus in science or exercise/working out in gym or participation with or on sports teams are ideal candidates.

Hours: 20-30 hours per week with the possibility of full-time. The practice is open from 9:30 am-7:30 pm Monday-Friday with some Saturday hours.

Power Train Rockville is looking to hire interns!



Power Train Rockville is looking to hire Summer & Spring interns. They are seeking students or graduates looking to gain experience in the strength & conditioning and personal training fields. Power Train works with a wide variety of middle school, high school, collegiate, and professional athletes, as well as adults of any age and fitness level. Power Train CEO, Steve Saunders, is the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Baltimore Ravens.

Interested applicants should have a passion for fitness, strength training, and/or group fitness. Applicants can expect to get significant hours of personal training and sports performance training experience. Power Train has had great success with UMD students in the past three years and are able to help complete internship credit requirements as well. Internships are available for the Spring and Summer!
