Kid's Kitchen Fitness Program Internship

KIDS KITCHEN, Inc is looking for a fitness program intern for their Thursday youth program for the Fall semester. The program runs September 27, 2021 through December 17, 2021. Please see below for more details.

We are recruiting public health interns for a youth health and wellness program for the upcoming school year. Ideal candidates have a public health background with a special emphasis in kinesiology and physical activity. The intern will be responsible for the development and delivery of a physical activity program (strength and conditioning, sports, games, yoga and exercise) that promotes youth development and health promotion.

We are seeking interns for an afterschool youth program in Montgomery County, Maryland for the upcoming school year 2021 - 2022. The program operates at school sites in the Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Wheaton and Gaithersburg area. Intern is responsible for conducting kid friendly fitness activities integrated with simple health and wellness messages. We are looking for strong and reliable candidates that are available to intern with our program. Preference will be given to candidates who are able to intern at least one day per week for the entire school year. The candidate must commit and complete entire assigned schedule. The candidate must be willing and available to commute to the program site. Background check/fingerprinting and clearance is required.

Days: Mondays - Thursdays; One(1) day per week minimum
Dates: October 2021 - December 2021 (Fall 2021) and January 2022 - May 2022 (Spring 2022)***
Time: Available between the hours of 3pm - 6pm
Pay: Based upon experience

***Program operates on a typical school year schedule with normal holiday and school breaks. Program dates and schedule will be finalized by August/September 2021.

Physical Activity|Fitness|Sports|Yoga|Kinesiology|Background
Energetic and works well with youth with a positive attitude
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to travel to program sites independently.
Commitment to be on time

Lead the Way with Terps for Change

Terps for Change is an immersive community experience with eight weeks of service and dialogue. With Terps for Change you'll contribute positively to a nonprofit in Prince Goerge's County while also engaging in robust self-reflective conversations. We work with nonprofits of all sorts so there's something for everyone: educational nonprofits, seniors, environmentally-focused nonprofits, etc.

Our priority deadline for educational nonprofits is January 31st and our regular application deadline for all other volunteer opportunities is February 7th!

Join us for the Spring 2021 Alternative Breaks Dialogue Program!

Do you want to connect with your peers? Learn about social issues? Do direct service? If so, the Alternative Breaks Dialogue Program is for you! Any student, undergraduate or graduate, who wants to explore community development, civic engagement, local issues, leadership, and service should consider joining.

Program Details:
The Alternative Breaks Dialogue Program looks to build a world in which UMD students are empowered learners in community together, taking action toward just causes.

Through deliberative and reflective dialogues addressing global social issues, student participants will exchange and evaluate different ideas and approaches that challenge specific social, political and economic structures of our global community.

Direct service with a local community partner will demonstrate how students can turn their knowledge into action in safe, responsible, and sustainable ways.

Interested students must be willing to commit 1.5 hours/week for 8 weeks between February 15th, 2021 - April 9th, 2021.

The experience is free!

AmeriCorps Position

The National Health Corps is a nationwide service program devoted to fostering healthy communities by delivering health and wellness education, and connecting those who need it most to benefits and services. The National Health Corps Florida AmeriCorps program offers opportunities for professional development, and real world experience, while serving the Northeast Florida community in various healthcare and outreach positions, patient case management, and health education. Host sites are non-profits, including medical and dental clinics, pharmacies, public health organizations, and youth development campuses. Members commit to 1700 hours of direct service over a 46-week period and receive a living stipend during the term of service. Following successful completion of the service term, members will receive an education award.


Applications are open and can be found on the NHC website. While open to all majors and backgrounds, this program is particularly suited to individuals who are interested in a career in healthcare, and health related fields, and are looking to gain service experience.

AmeriCorps Vista position: Sustainable Food Systems


As a VISTA member, you will play a vital role in helping Union-Snyder Community Action Agency (CAA) coordinate programs and resources to increase access to and affordability of healthy food for families living with low income. This position will build Union-Snyder CAA’s capacity to address gaps in services that provide food security in the region. The VISTA will be responsible for working with local universities, community gardens, farmers, retail businesses, and nonprofit agencies in developing the region’s first Hunger Coalition to determine sustainable solutions for addressing food insecurity in the region. This will include information gathering, networking, meeting organization, and participation in the committee for the annual Sowing Change conference. The VISTA will work closely with key CAA staff and AmeriCorps member(s) to build, strengthen, and streamline agency food assistance services.

Yale Sports Performance Volunteer Internship Summer/Fall 2020


- Yale University Sports Performance is currently accepting applications for Summer AND Fall Internship Positions (Summer: May 26, 2020 - August 7, 2020 Fall: TBD)
- Participants will learn the science and practice of collegiate strength and conditioning through hands on practical weight room experience as well as weekly lectures on a variety of topics
-Interns will have the opportunity to work with our 32 teams - including our 2019 Ivy League Championship Football team and 2018 National Championship Men's Lacrosse team
- Preferred Qualifications: Recent graduate or pursuing degree in Exercise Science, though we accept applications from all interested in this field. The position is unpaid, but is good for college credit and CEU's with the NSCA.
