Kid's Kitchen Fitness Program Internship

KIDS KITCHEN, Inc is looking for a fitness program intern for their Thursday youth program for the Fall semester. The program runs September 27, 2021 through December 17, 2021. Please see below for more details.

We are recruiting public health interns for a youth health and wellness program for the upcoming school year. Ideal candidates have a public health background with a special emphasis in kinesiology and physical activity. The intern will be responsible for the development and delivery of a physical activity program (strength and conditioning, sports, games, yoga and exercise) that promotes youth development and health promotion.

We are seeking interns for an afterschool youth program in Montgomery County, Maryland for the upcoming school year 2021 - 2022. The program operates at school sites in the Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Wheaton and Gaithersburg area. Intern is responsible for conducting kid friendly fitness activities integrated with simple health and wellness messages. We are looking for strong and reliable candidates that are available to intern with our program. Preference will be given to candidates who are able to intern at least one day per week for the entire school year. The candidate must commit and complete entire assigned schedule. The candidate must be willing and available to commute to the program site. Background check/fingerprinting and clearance is required.

Days: Mondays - Thursdays; One(1) day per week minimum
Dates: October 2021 - December 2021 (Fall 2021) and January 2022 - May 2022 (Spring 2022)***
Time: Available between the hours of 3pm - 6pm
Pay: Based upon experience

***Program operates on a typical school year schedule with normal holiday and school breaks. Program dates and schedule will be finalized by August/September 2021.

UMD Sport Performance Internship

Please see the attached flyer for an internship opportunity with UMD Athletics in the area of Sports Performance/ Strength & Conditioning.

Please note, while many students are interested in pursuing Athletic Training / Physical Therapy internships through UMD Sports Medicine in the Department of Athletics, they are full for the fall. 

They will likely start taking applications for spring semester in late fall (deadline is usually Dec 1st) . They have their own application so if you are interested in receiving more information about that, please reach out to Dr. Klossner in mid to late fall semester. Two positions are available for virtual internships with the Center for Orthopedic Outcomes and Research (COOR) with Luminis Health (Anne Arundel Medical Center and Doctor’s Community Medical Center) during the Fall 2021 semester. In collaboration with research staff, physical therapists and orthopedic surgeons, interns will conduct clinical outcomes research related to various orthopedic subspecialties ranging from total joint replacement and spine surgery to sports medicine.

Sports Performance Internship

D-BAT Gaithersburg is a Premier Baseball & Softball training facility. At 40,000 square feet it is the largest baseball and softball training facility on the east coast. This includes a 15,000 sq ft Sports Performance Center (SPC) Directed by Coach John Philbin. 

Mr. Philbin is a strength and conditioning specialist with over 30 years of experience. He has 10 years of experience in Major League Baseball and is a former Olympian in addition to many other experiences and accolades including teaching in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Maryland.

Coach Philbin/ D-BATS is looking for Sports Performance / Science Interns.

Luminis Health (Anne Arundel Medical Center and Doctor’s Community Medical Center) Orthopedics and Physical Therapy Research Internship Opportunity

Two positions are available for virtual internships with the Center for Orthopedic Outcomes and Research (COOR) during the Spring 2021 semester. In collaboration with research staff, physical therapists and orthopedic surgeons, interns will conduct clinical outcomes research related to various orthopedic subspecialties ranging from total joint replacement and spine surgery to sports medicine. Interns will perform various tasks as needed by the research team including literature searches, medical record review, data collection, and scientific manuscript writing. Training on research methods and statistics will be provided, and all interns will earn CITI research ethics and compliance certification.
